Anybody home?

Come in! Have a margarita or root beer? How about some fresh trout? :)

I have been gearing up for finals week next week. Then I get to be home for about a month for christmas break. The only thing that stands between me and home are 4 finals and one of them is for a class I am currently failing (along with half of the class).

Half the class, TW? Out of curiosity, what is the class?

Busy here myself... gearing up for the winter travel, end of classes, signing up for more classes... etc. etc.

The class is Dynamics. It is a Mechanical Engineering course where you learn to develop equations for such things as the forces exerted on your car's suspention or on the wings of a plane. It can get real complicated since we are now doing all of this with differential equations.

And I was just pondering how people come up with those equations today when I was in physics trying to figure out the force of tension and what not....

My comp sci curriculum had a lot of classes in common with the engineering curriculum, and so I heard lots of horror stories about their Statics and/or Dynamics classes.

Study hard. Good luck. God bless. :)

Not to rub it in... but I found dynamics to be fairly straightforward. Remember your vector rules, my friend. You can derive any equations of motion by remembering your vector rules. (By "vector rules", I'm talking about the basis vector stuff from multivariable calculus. Your "i", "j", and "k" vectors, also known as "e1", "e2", and "e3".)

Saved my butt more times than I can remember. And that way you don't have to try to remember all of the funky rules for the different coordinate systems. ;)

I've been sick with a very nasty flu. And working my ass off. I literally have no ass. ;)

I also just put my order in for a new motherboard and CPU. Should get it by week's end. And I did get a motherboard, but it was the wrong one and newegg were being irritating about me returning it for a completely different board. So... I have one listed on ebay

That's an interesting board Asha.. So did you order it by mistake, or did they send you the wrong one? If I had the cash I'd buy it.. getting time to upgrade the Fiancee's machine, methinks.... Or maybe I'll wait till my tax return and upgrade my own.. Hrmm..

Dude! You need to say "new in box" and preferably have a picture. You've got a seriously bare-bones description there.

Yeah. Been having problems with the site. I can't figure out what it is though, since both explorer and firefox do the same thing. :(

*EDIT*
Well... for whatever reason, it worked now.

I ended up ordering the wrong one. Clicked on it by mistake and ended up not realizing it until I read the invoice after it was delivered. Serious "DOH!" moment for me.

But! I just got the new board today. It's got the xpress 3200 chipset from nvidia, which is what I originally decided on. I just forgot to check the right check box when I was ordering from my wishlist on newegg.
