Well... turns out that newegg doesn't sell it anymore. And pricewatch doesn't list it as being sold anywhere anymore either. I wonder if I got one of the last ones in a very short product cycle?
Anyways, here's the pricewatch link:
http://castle.pricewatch.com/s/search.a ... %2C+eSATA2
Here's the link to the ASRock info on the board:
http://www.asrock.com/product/939SLI32-eSATA2.htm
I got it for something like 90 bucks.

From what I gather, they're new. :p
I've read a lot of reviews on newegg and the consensus seems to be that the board manufacturer is solid. What I seem to recall is that most of the boards were the ones with VSTA in the model number. One thing I did notice in the packaging that I got is that they use environmentally friendly processes in their board manufacturing.
I do know that the board seems to have everything in order. But I never fired it up. I looked at it once to see if it is possible to use with my watercooling system, and it's not. It lacks the backplate on the motherboard that a lot of other boards have around the CPU socket. That just means that heavier coolers are not good things to put on it.
I went ahead and got an Athlon 64 3200. And I'll likely swap that out for an Opteron 170 in the coming months.
I do know that if I can't drop it on ebay, I'll likely be looking for someone here to take it off of my hands for a reduced price. Possibly with an Athlon64 3200 in the near future as well.

haha Asha... I did the same thing with my video card last time I purchased from newegg.com! I accidentilly got the AGP version when I needed a PCIe card.
They don't make exceptions to their policy... 20% restocking fee... on that nVidia 6800 GT I could have gone out and got a new AGP mb for that 20%! So I ended up selling it to my brother for the 20% loss in $$$, but made up for it in nullified IOUs.
