First of all, big kudos to Aaron Remkus for getting this image in front of the right people to get it into the mag. Holeshot is a local MX magazine that Aaron shoots for. He saw this image that I shot back in January and said that the folks at Holeshot are looking for images like this. The Holeshot editor sent me an image of the page in the mag where they used my pic.
BTW - that's Aaron on the bike.
Anyway, I'm just excited to be published. Never thought it would happen 'cause I don't see my stuff as good enough.

Hey, that's right! You were there when I took this shot. Not sure that history was made, but it was fun.

First of all, Hat and BR - thank you very much for your kind words and encouragement. It means a lot to me.
Gambino - there was no financial component. I figure that to get started in this biz you've got to do what it takes to get recognized first, then worry about the money later. Trust me - I'm no big fan of giving my work away and try to avoid it at all costs. I just feel that this is just a necessary evil when you're trying to get started. The editor of Holeshot asked if I might be interested in doing some fill-in work at events where they need additional photogs. Chances are, I won't get paid for that stuff, either (unless I get a Cover shot). Hopefully, I start to see more of my images show up in print. I plan on using this experience as a stepping stone to opportunities that WILL pay. It just takes time and work.
