My wife and I have some good news.

You'll never guess....

still wondering?

We're moving back up to Washington state. I got a job with DCMA (Defense Contracts Management Agency, www.dcma.gov), aeronautical systems division, and it's near Seattle.

It will be different than the R&D stuff I've been doing. And it's not necessarily directed energy. But... it's a mature program that I'll be joining, and it's a different view of the government acquisition process. I can still be involved with the DE stuff... just couldn't talk about things...

Congrats man! I remember you saying something about that a while ago, about being contacted about that position.. Glad you got hired!

now, for your next trick, find someone within the FAA to get ME hired.

Seattle is fine, but Chicago or Minnesota is preferred

Hay - There's an Aviation Certification Inspector position open in Tacoma, I'm thinking of applying.. But since there's no more room in Seattle, I guess I'll just skip it....

OMW!

With some help and several hours of effort, we got the truck loaded, the driver sent off, and we leave tomorrow after some tidying up at our old apartment.

We're moving to Kent. And get this... my commute will only be 3 miles! Google maps says it takes 15 minutes.

I could ride my bike to work! Anyways, it'll be nice to not be in the 100+ heat all the time. Though today it only got to 100.

And I definitely miss work already. They said I could come back any time, and I think I will... for special things.

Well, the move went well. All our money is gone, and all of our stuff is moved in. We're visiting my wife's parents now in eastern washington, so I have internet access on my laptop. We should be getting our internet set up this week. Comcast couldn't do it last week because our stuff hadn't arrived yet when the tech showed up.

Heh.
