Could you guys point me to a good and reliable Spyware finder/deleter program (wow that sounds newbish). I've been getting some weird pop-ups since i used my stepfathers cable connection to DL the Lineage2 NA Closed Beta. Pop ups tell me to type in a web address in my browser and they say it will check for spyware. Not being a total dumbass I haven't done so. Any ideas?<br><br> Also some of the websites it directs me to (change every couple hours now) have been spy2.com, spy9.com, and others that don't contain the word spy but are variations on the same theme. <p></p><i></i>

Personally I use Ad-Aware, like Hammer said. But I've also heard a lot of good things about Spybot. Those are the two biggest and most trusted names in spyware removal these days. <p></p><i></i>

I use Spybot Search&Destroy. I haven't had any previous experience with Adaware, so I can't tell you which is better, but S&D has a really good spyware detection/prevention system. The other thing to kill popups is to get rid of messenger service, or deny that program access to your connection through your firewall. <p></p><i></i>

How do get rid of messenger. Never used it but it just showed up on my comp on day... MS messenger. <p></p><i></i>

What OS do you have?<br><br><br>If you have Win2k or XP I am pretty sure I can help.<br><br>If you have win9x or ME, then I'm not sure I can because I haven't used either of those OS'es in a few years.<br><br> <p></p><i></i>

Well the Messenger service he is talking about is different that Windows Messenger.
