The graphics engine is OGRE, with some lighting support from a piece of software called windlight which is also built on OGRE for some things. It uses shaders as well to get a lot of the effects that they have.

But trust me. Look at the teaser video. Then look a the gameplay video!

It is FREAKIN SWEET!
