Guys,
I was trying to help Sharp get his small network setup...but XP Home always has a problem with shared drives and credentials to access them...there is a quick fix...but I forgot it and I am exhausted.
Ideas and input would be appreciated.
Gracias!

If XP is anything like Win2k in its networking...
You gotta share the directory. And you have to give permissions to the users or groups for that directory. AND you have to make sure the permissions are at the level you want (read/write/execute/none/etc).
If it's not like Win2k... then I hope you figure it out!

I have never gotten my home network to work right. Example, my dad has Home edition and I have Pro and we can rarely see each other through the router and when we do we can never access each other. I have also tried it with my laptop which also has Pro and can only get it to work one way from my desktop to the laptop, the other way is blocked.

In order for you to share drives on a computer with XP Home, you have to assign it a STATIC IP address and on the XP Pro machine you map the drive to that IP address on the Home machine. Example \\192.168.1.100\C
For some reason XP Home has an issue with shared drives unless you assign static IP's in the house.
Try that solution.
