just a droplet of OJ that tripped my IR trigger that fired the flash after a short delay (didn't calculate delay, but all that takes is measuring pot resistance and plug into equation)

Very very cool. One of these days I'm going to have to spend some time trying to shoot drops. The first one could use a tad bump in saturation.

Thanks Hat & Porsche! Yeah, about $20 in electronic components & a circuit diagram found on the internet makes it so easy to shoot drops that you actually have some artistic freedom vs. putting all your effort into actually catching a splash.
re. the 1st one, I actually bumped the saturation quite a bit to get that. I started to go higher but I started to get some color banding (or w/e it's called) And the reds in the bottom left & the greens in the top right started to get out of control. i.e. it was well outside of my usually 30 second rule for post processing. Though I really should go back and do it right b/c I really like the sanddollar shape.
