Tribes 2 server is up!

I no see on the public list...please make it public.

Ok...I found it...via IP...We need to change the name to XMEN Ultrafishplex.

Also...it kicks me off then tells me the server is cycling maps...but I come back into the game where I left out...same map...more time elapsed. Hmmmm.

Maybe it does not like DefenseTurret?

Good news: Changed name and player limit.

Bad news: still looking for server-side DefenseTurret vl2 file.

Good news: Running server without DT, but works with DT client just fine.

Found and added DT vl2. Server works with and without DT, and puts the little warning on your screen if you haven't got it. I don't remember the key that shows the list of who does and doesn't have it.

Defense Turret was a T2 invention. VL2 files are Tribes 2 files.

I doubt defense turret would work correctly on a T1 server.

We are talking about T2, as that is in the title of the thread.

We were trying to set it up so we could play either T1 or T2, we've just had a bit of trouble with the T1.

Oh dang, I went straight to Tribes 1 and looked at the server list before reading the thread. I was waiting for T1

Give instruction and links to how to work Defense Turret, the widespread use of that happened after I stopped playing so I don't know the process.

feel free to use TeamSpeak, there are Tribes channel in the ATF section.

Okay. Was waiting for the Tribes 1 server too.

As far as I can remember, the DT server-side script was released to selected users. And it might be a good idea to try posting on the BEML or TWL forums for help.

Ok, have enabled Belial's bots on the server, so if you want to just go mess around you'll have company anytime. Only good for Base and Dynamix Final maps, but should be OK for more than CTF.

zSo I reinstalled T2, and patched it to .2035 or whatever, and it won't let me play online. I can play LAN games just fine, but I can't get to where I want to go. I went to the Sierra FTP to get the klast patch even, still no dice. Do I have to change something in the shortcut to not do the version check?

Yes. You need to change the target field in the shortcut to Tribes2.exe -online
For example:
C:\Dynamix\Tribes2\GameData\tribes2.exe -online

You can also run it through the DT shortcut and it works pretty well.

Hmm, odd. I played against the bots for about 30-45 mins last night, no problems, nice & smooth.
