Comp Question

I think you are on the right track. Check the stand-offs for the mobo. Make sure you are not grounding the mobo out. If you are getting the start-up whir, and it's an ATX case that means the start signal is going through the mobo to the power supply, so I don't think the mobo is fried. I move all my stuff to a new case last night and it did the EXACT same thing you described untill I removed two extra standoff's that were just sitting against the bottom of the mobo. <p></p><i></i>

It's also possible that your ps is just fine, and the mobo is wholly responsible for the weird behavior. The Fan on the PS isnt turning either..<br>It get soo much worse.<br>I started to check the equipment by putting it in my secondary box.First the isa modem,computer wouldnt even give me video,took it out no problem,next the isa sound card same deal nothin wouldnt even try to boot,took it out again no problems,Check the Ram, Ram is good agp vid card nothin, tried to boot but no video.<br>Now and finally both the standard CD-rom and the Burner while it boots the lights will not go off and the doors will not open, Crispy fried man ive never seen it go like this,<br>All of the parts were checked in my secondary box and that box is fine as is all the equipment in it.<br>Everything in that computer except for the Ram is Toast!<br><br>Has anybody seen this before? Chunking is most likely the HDD.
