Avatar error

Can not upload an avatar. It appears that the /images/avatars/ storage directory is not writable.

That's correct. I've not tried to get that working, don't know if it even does, but I didn't want a bunch of extra stuff loaded on the site and was paranoid as well.

I guess I could have a look at it.

It is as easy as just right clicking on the /avatars/ directory in your ftp client and chmod to 777

Offsite avatars tend break over time as people lose/change hosting. Locally hosted images can be more secure and faster loading than offsite as well.

Nothing bugs me more than broken images in neglected profiles

Not easy for you or the method can't be that easy? hehe. Chmod is needed for any php script that writes a file to a directory, I am sure it is the solution.
